Galena on Pyrite & Quartz (Peru)

This is a gorgeous specimen! It contains several shimmery clusters of silvery gray galena encrusting a cluster of striated pyrite and sprays of small quartz crystals. It was collected from the Huanzala Mine in Peru. The specimen measures 2.0" wide. 

While galena will not pose a health hazard by sitting on the shelf or even from casual handling, I suggest washing hands following handling due to the mineral's lead content.
